Anyone visiting the PLEPUC Web site can consult and download content, as long as it is used only for the purposes of private study or research. Downloading, printing and other applications of this content require visitors to limit the use of these files or documents to fair dealing. Any use of this content must bear the copyright and ownership notices as well as a reference to the source (including a reference to the PLEPUC Web site).
For example, the PLEPUC Web site can be referred to as follows:

Unless otherwise specified, photographs appearing on the PLEPUC Web site are protected under copyright law. These photographs can only be used for the purposes of private study or research.
The use of photographs on the PLEPUC Web site is part of a research-creation project, as defined by the SSRHC.

In order to structure fair dealing with regard to these photographs, the following measures were taken:
   •  Reduction of the possibility of saving images using any major search engine
   •  Refusal of permission for indexing images on the PLEPUC Web site by search engines
   •  Presentation of images in low resolution

Fair Dealing and Literary Works
The Copyright Act (C-42 Copyright Act, art. 29 and 29.1) stipulates the following:
     29.    Fair dealing for the purpose of research or private study does not infringe copyright.

     29.1   Fair dealing for the purpose of criticism or review does not infringe copyright if the following are mentioned:
               (a) the source; and
               (b) if given in the source, the name of the
                    (i) author, in the case of a work,
                    (ii) performer, in the case of a performer’s performance,
                    (iii) maker, in the case of a sound recording, or
                    (iv) broadcaster, in the case of a communication signal.
